At the recently completed Olympic Games in London some superb records were broken. Such as the David Rudisha World Record in the 800 m run - awesome! I do not know if you know, but the fashion for the establishment of more and more stringent records also applies to agricultural operations. In recent years a number of superb results in very different “disciplines” were established.

One of the last result applies to sowing maize. It was a great achievement for a group of experts from Russia (exactly 16 people participated in the project) and two machines: Claas Xerion 5000 and Horsch seed drill Maestro SW 24.70-75. A successful record-breaking attempt took place this year at the end of April. During the 24-hour time, Russian team managed to sow maize on the surface of 448.29 ha. Nice! (More on this subject: "World Record for sowing corn!" – again it’s only in polish :(, but you can find interesting information on: )
But I remember something even more interesting. Summer 2008, when two companies Claas and New Holland led mailing duel in setting records in harvesting cereals. The first was set in July 2008, when New Holland CR9090 Elevation within 8 hours collected 451.2 tons of grain (znaleźć eng link). But it was just a beginning. We didn’t have to wait long for an answer. 16th September of the same year… Claas Lexion 580 TT… also 8 hours... 532.14 tons collected grains ("link")! 10 days later, once again the result was improved by New Holland. Of course, also with a little help of CR9090 Elevation… 556.1 tonnes of grain!
I must add, that it’s not easy to break record like those I mentioned. The machine and its capabilities is just one element. Second, is the team of agricultural specialists, and of course, the matter of plants (crop, variety, etc.), soil, climate, etc. It does not change the fact that I look forward to new records. And if you want to read more about the farm records, then I invite you to agrotechnic.pl (once again – only in polish).
